When the snowflakes dance silently over the lake in winter and the landscape is covered in a fluffy, thick blanket of snow, then it's the ideal time to explore the area around Boutiquehotel Aichinger - the idyllic Salzkammergut - on foot! Whether it's a leisurely stroll through Nußdorf am Attersee, a winter hike on one of the many perfectly prepared winter hiking trails or a sporty walk with snowshoes through the snow-covered valleys and forests.
Let yourself be enchanted more and more by the beauty of the winter landscape, the crystal-clear lake and glistening icicles with every step you take, before returning to the hotel with red cheeks and enjoying the fine wellness facilities and excellent cuisine.
This beautiful, approximately three-and-a-half-hour circular trail leads from the village of Attersee through wintry forests, across snow-covered meadows and along forest roads to the Buchberg summit in the Attergau region and back again. On the 8.2-kilometre loop, you cover around 550 metres in altitude on the way to the summit. Once at the top, the Jagastüberl hut invites you to take a break and you are rewarded with a sensational panoramic view of Lake Attersee and the Höllengebirge mountains beyond.
The starting point for this wonderful 12.6-kilometre winter hike along the Dürren Ager is the village of St. Georgen im Attergau. Starting from the Attergau leisure centre, the trail leads past the Kinzl mill through a flat meadow valley to the Aumühle mill. Even though there are no major differences in altitude, sturdy footwear is recommended for this approximately three-and-a-half-hour winter hike, as some of the roads and paths lead through a meadow landscape that is not cleared.
The Födinger Alm in Weyregg am Attersee is a hut at 893 metres above sea level, which can be easily reached on foot via a private forest road that is around 4.5 kilometres long. The magnificent panorama of the Höllengebirge mountains, the culinary offerings and the hospitality make the Födinger Alm a popular excursion destination in the Attersee-Attergau region. In winter, when the snow conditions are good, you can go downhill on a toboggan.
A winter landscape covered in deep snow, glistening powder snow and, as a reward, a breathtaking view over the sea of clouds - the snowshoe hike up the Lichtenberg offers all of this. From the car park at the Landgasthof Spitzerwirt in St. Georgen im Attergau, the route first follows the road, then the forest road through the forest and steadily up the mountain. After approx. 2 kilometres, leave the road and turn right onto a forest path that leads to the "Attergauer Aussichtsturm" turn-off, which can be reached in approx. 10 minutes from here. Take a break at the lookout tower and you will be rewarded with a magnificent view. The same route leads back to the starting point.
